For my final show at RCS, I chose one of Alice Birch's earliest plays, which follows a couple's unimaginable grief and its effects on those around them during the world's worst dinner party.
While the script calls for some exciting production challenges — a dead bird in the pie, bleeding hands and feet, and the entire wall of the house coming down — it also offered me the chance to go into serious and rewarding depth with the actors, as we tested whether their characters could ever let go of the past.
