Snappy Operas is Mahogany's flagship schools programme, where children get to rehearse, make, and perform mini-operas. As part of their Year of Snappy Operas, Mahogany teamed up with EIF to engage four schools, 155 children, and perform six operas — of which I directed two: Peck! and Machine Dream.
Collaborating with an MD and rep, we worked with two classes of children to create characters, come up with ideas, and stage their operas — which involved a few cream pies along the way...
